Conservation Education Practices

# Library: The resort has a separate library with good range for wildlife books & literature. The library also has a telescope which gives good bird watching provision to the visitors.
# Briefing and Presentation to visitors: the resort provides information booklet to all visitors which lists information aboutPench National Park , also lists details of flora and fauna and dos and don’ts, every evening there is a presentation about the Park, We have experienced naturalists who brief the guests which is an effective medium of providing conservation education.
# Construction and interiors: the resort use indigenous earthy materials for interiors which is a better for aesthetics and sustainability. As accommodation are luxury Tents, Concrete has been used to the least possible level.

# Solid waste management: the resort segregate their solid waste as bio degradable and non‐bio degradable waste. The bio degradable waste is used for making compost. In addition to this the resort used its non‐bio degradable waste in biogas plant. The biogas is being used for 05 hours/ day in the kitchen.
# Energy Conservation: The Resort’s rooms are highly ventilated & aerated with a provision of appropriate utilization of day light. The use of CFL’s is an effective approach towards energy conservation. The resort also has biogas plant, digital battery pulsar, fuel catalyst as energy savers. The resort also utilizes renewable energy to minimize the usage of conventional energy source. The resort has installed solar water heaters.
# Waste water Management: Waste water is recycled for plantation
# Water conservation: The resort has a good filtration system for swimming pool. In addition to this the used swimming pool water is being used for irrigation and Plantation purposes.
# Safari and nature Walk: The resort has a wide range of options to take safari and nature walk. For nature walk, resort has cycles and motorized bikes (ATV Bikes) which is highly effective medium of sustainable nature walk. For safari, resort has horses and hot air balloons which are again very effective mediums. Pench Jungle Camp extensively supports the conservation of wildlife and contributes to its neighbouring communities in one way or another. In addition, we seek to limit our impact in terms of fossil fuels, the use of renewable energy, water and waste management, and recycling.

At Pench Jungle Camp we seek to maintain a low impact on the land while deriving high yield for our conservation initiatives that support enormous tracts of biodiverse land, which remains untouched. Some of them are listed below:

# Wages and Incentives: The Resort providing Job and Training to Locally available Staff, and about 80% of the Staff is Local.
# Local food and culture: The Resort acquires 100% local food for its operations and uses locally made goods/products,this is towards promoting local markets and local sustainability. The vegetables from the in‐house organic farm are used for cooking for the guests.
# Training: The Resort has provided training to their local employees which is an effective approach for their integration with tourism. The Training and attitude of local staff has taken the service standards of the resort to the highest levels and the same is highly appreciated by the guests on social media sites like Tripadviser.com, etc.

# Employment: The 80% of the Resort’s staffing needs are met by employing local peoples.
# Assistance & Donation: The resort has provided a substantial assistance in a Government project: Tiger Census 2011. On the whole the lodge is involved in steps to promote tourism potential in the area.
